And I Begin...
September 22, 2005 (Thursday)
I have started and deleted this first entry of my very first blog six times. Why do I worry about what it says? The purpose is to "journal" my feelings and thoughts as I navigate the new, and possibly treacherous, waters of stepparenting. Complicating matters is my desire to still parent my own four children in an effective way.
All of a sudden I am nervous typing here. Do I try to "wax poetic" with each entry, or do I simply type thoughts as they occur?
Perhaps it will be a little of both.
There may be days that I only have time to type our very hectic schedule. With seven kids between us, my husband and I have had to become master planners. Yesterday afternoon we each spent the majority of our time in our vehicles picking up kids, running various errands, and dropping off kids at their required destinations.
I now have to end because it is time to head to two daughters' softball games (two tonight). Meanwhile my husband is attending one son's football game. It is my husband's birthday. And we are spending it shuttling kids around. We knew it would be this way going in to it. Hopefully we will learn to juggle wisely and always be able to make time for "us".
Time to sign off. Hopefully tomorrow will bring more productive "thoughts" to journal.
